The Perfect Sleep Environment

A good sleep environment is key for good sleep. The room should be:

-      Cool: 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit. The child should not be dressed too warmly.

-      Dark: blackout blinds, blackout curtains, and no nightlight.

-      With white noise: a white noise machine or sound machine is a great idea and should be left on all night and during naps.

-      Safe: all furniture should be secured to the walls and cords should be hidden and unreachable. A child should not be able to reach anything from the pack-n-play.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends room sharing with a child until they are at least 6 months old but up to age 1 year.
